Big occasion: Aston Villa to meet Middlesbrough in the first leg of the Championship Playoff Semi-final
With the Championship Playoff semi-final, the last day of the Premier League and the Rugby Union Champions Cup Final, football and rugby offer some excellent opportunities for sports fans to head down to the pub this weekend.

Middlesbrough v Aston Villa - Championship Playoff semi-final – Saturday 12 May - Sky Sports Main Event and Football (kick off 5.15pm)

As matches go, this one is well worth screening in your pub, as Villa heads to Borough’s Riverside Stadium for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final clash. Both teams are looking for promotion and will see this game as an opportunity to cement that dream.

Leinster v Racing 92 – Rugby Union Champions Cup final – Saturday 12 May – BT Sport 2 (kick off 4pm)

As Leinster meet Racing 92 at the San Mamés stadium in Bilbao, Spain, this is the first year the final has been held in a country that has no nation taking part in the competition. Leinster are the favourites after showing impressive form in previous games. However, fellow finalists Racing 92 have more than earned their place in the last two having made short work of Munster in the semi-final.

Liverpool v Brighton – Premier League – Sunday 13 May – Sky Sports Main Event (kick off 3pm)

As part of the ‘super Sunday’ triple header, the Liverpool v Brighton game is on the last day of the Premier League season as the top four spots and who face relegation are decided.

Liverpool are two points ahead of Chelsea and are looking set to stay there with the superior goal difference they’ve managed to build up. However, Brighton could still cause an upset with a surprise defeat for Liverpool.

Newcastle v Chelsea - Premier League – Sunday 13 May – Sky Sports Premier League (kick off 3pm)

Chelsea will be aiming to keep their top four hopes alive as they battle Newcastle at St James’ Park on the final day of the Premier League, while Newcastle will be looking for a top half of the table finish. With team pride on the line, this looks set to be an exciting match for pub goers.
