Pubs have taken to social media to show how they are getting involved in National Vegetarian Week.

The designated week, which runs from 14 to 20 May, aims to encourage people to eating delicious and exciting veggie food.

It also looks to highlight the benefits and pleasures of a meat-free diet to the wider public.

Signature dish

The William Walker pub, in Winchester, Hampshire, showcased a signature dish for National Vegetarian Week.

Park Pub & Kitchen in Bedford offered vegan daily specials.

The Doric Arch, just outside of Euston train station in central London, highlighted its offer on its blackboard.

Veggie option

This Cheshire pub created a special menu in honour of National Vegetarian Week.

Cotswolds venue the Village Pub in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, shows off its forest mushroom dish.

A veggie-friendly dish with a drink pairing from the Victoria, near Richmond Park, in west London.

Pub group and brewery Fuller's announced the Fence in Farringdon, in the city of London, would be serving up a fully vegetarian and vegan menu for the rest of the month.

The Old Thatched Inn, Adstock, in Buckinghamshire, called on diners to try something from its veggie menu.
