Titanic Brewery is rolling out its Bod café-bar format to two new sites, after struggling to secure traditional pub sites.

The Staffordshire-based group, which has seven pubs, created the concept for the former Co-Op building in Stafford. It will now be rolled out to the former first class lounge on Stoke station and the former Natwest bank in Trentham, a suburb of Stoke.

Managing director Keith Bott told MCA that the group was talking to Virgin Rail about further opportunities for the concept in railway stations.

The Trentham site is the group’s latest partnership with Everards, through its Project William initiative.

Bott described Bod as an “aspirational, all-day café-bar”.

He said: “We have not been able to secure the traditional pub sites for the past three or four years and we are still finding that difficult. The Bod model allows us to look at different kinds of sites and give us much more flexibility. Having said that, we are certainly not turning our back on the traditional pub model.”

In 2015 the group unveiled a plan to grow its then nine-strong pub estate to 20 by 2020.
