The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has released a third edition of its pocket-sized guide to pub walks in the Peak District.

Peak District Pub Walks has been brought up to date with the evolution of Peak District pubs since its 2012 edition.

Written by geographer and CAMRA member Bob Steel, the manual takes travellers through the industrial history of the region.

New pubs for walkers who fancy a break in their journey have been added to the book’s 25 routes, alongside Ordnance Survey maps and colourful photographs of the Pennines and their pubs.

The Boat Inn, in Cromford, Derbyshire, will host a book signing by author Bob Steel on Saturday 14 July. The pub describes itself as “the ideal resting place for the weary traveller” and is situated close to the famous High Peak Trail and Black Rocks.

Starting at 12noon, the author will introduce the guide and later lead one of the six-mile walks mentioned in the book.

Other pub walk titles by Bob Steel include: London Pub Walks; Edinburgh Pub Walks; South East Pub Walks; CAMRA's Lake District Pub Walks; and CAMRA's Yorkshire Pub Walks.

Peak District Pub Walks (3rd Edition) will be published 16 July and is available for pre-order on the CAMRA website for £9.99.
