The need for a quick kick without actually drinking appears to have made alcohol-infused food a hit among consumers.

Sure to add a touch of class and luxury to your breakfast this Christmas morning is Pished Fish’s booze-infused smoked salmon.

The Pished Fish,​ based in Brighton, East Sussex, has released a range of salmon treats, seasoned with popular alcohol favourites including brandy, gin, whisky, Tequila, aquavit, vodka and rum.

“In these more health-conscious times, I felt the moment was ripe to display salmon’s more mischievous side,” said Pished Fish’s managing director James Eagle.

“My vision was to shine a light on salmon’s more audacious, heroic and booze-infused side, showcasing the mighty salmon’s unrivalled capacity to pair majestically with best-in-class botanicals and alcoholic beverages before being thoughtfully smoked in small batches.”

For drink enthusiasts, there's 'Sozzled Santa' (infused with brandy, cinnamon, nutmeg and clementine zest), while for those wishing to keep a clear head there's 'Designated Driver' (juniper and cherry infused smoke).

“We completely understand that boozy fish might not be to everyone's taste, which is why our Designated Driver salmon offering is ideally suited to anyone driving or taking part in Dry January​,” added Eagle.
