Diageo Reserve’s vodka Ketel One has launched a collection of fruit-infused spirits, in an effort to satisfy health-conscious consumers’ demand for lower-alcohol spirits.

The new range compromises three expressions: Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom shows fragrant notes of orange blossoms; Ketel One Botanical Cucumber & Mint has a fresh and crisp herbaceous character; Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit & Rose combines zestiness with intense floral aromas.

To make Ketel One Botanical, the brand’s vodka is redistilled in copper pot stills with a blend of botanicals. After distillation, the spirits is infused with ‘naturally extracted essences’ of fruit and other botanicals.

“It is the perfect alternative calorie-conscious addition to lower-ABV cocktail menus,” exclaimed Bob Nolet, 11th generation master distiller at the Nolet Distillery.

“Just as our father redefined the possibilities for vodka with the exceptionally smooth crisp taste of Ketel One Vodka, we believe Ketel One Botanical sets a completely new standard in spirits.

“As it becomes clear that consumers want better drinking options, Ketel One Botanical and the Ketel One Spritz offer a thoughtful choice for consumers looking for something new from their summer serve.

“We see Ketel One Botanical playing a key part of this ongoing evolution, targeting inquisitive consumers open to trying new flavour combinations and we’re delighted to be introducing something really exciting to the market."

All the new labels have an ABV of 30% – lower than Ketel’s flagship vodka at 40% ABV – and a single measure mixed with soda water only contains 82 calories.

“We’ve watched the gin category boom in recent years, introducing new and herbaceous flavours,” added Nolet.

“With care at the heart of the distillation process, we strive to ensure we’re producing a spirit that is better for all including consumers, bartenders and our customers.

“People care deeply about what they put in their bodies, which is why we care deeply about what goes into every bottle.”

The Ketel One Botanical range will be available throughout on and off-trade from mid-March including, grocery, wholesale and convenience channels.
