Glee-total: German premium beer brand Krombacher is releasing its flagship non-alcoholic Pilsner to the UK on-trade
With the demand for low and no-alcohol beers on the rise in the UK, German premium beer brand Krombacher is launching its flagship no-alcohol Pilsner across the on-trade.

Krombacher Pils Alkoholfrei (0.0% ABV) is said to be the perfect drink for sportsmen and women, designated drivers, for those giving up or cutting down on alcohol, or just as a healthier alternative to a sugar-laden soft drink.

According to Stephan Kofler, Krombacher’s UK sales and marketing director, the beers are made using the same quality ingredients as its full-strength beers to ensure maximum flavour and nutrients are retained.

“We have been at the forefront of the low and no-alcohol trend in the UK since 2013 with our low alcohol Pilsner and Weizen becoming firm favourites in the on-trade,” he boasted.

“With consumers demanding more choice and quality when it comes to low and no drinks, we’re delighted to now add to our range the addition of the Pils Alkoholfrei.”

Kofler added that the beer is a “natural thirst quencher” with fine malt sweetness, which boasts fresh hop aromas – resulting in a clean, crisp and full-bodied flavour.

He concluded: “For consumers looking for zero-alcohol, but a full-flavoured Pilsner, it provides absolute clarity, real taste and I honestly don’t think there is a better option.”

As well as a targeted social media and advertising campaign, the launch is being supported with a wide range of tastings within the on-trade and participation in the Mindful Drinking Festival at Spitalfields Market, east London, on 20 July.
