A husband and wife team whose hospitality pedigrees include Petrus, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and the Oxford Blue are opening their own gastropub next month.

Daniel Crump and wife Margriet Vandezande-Crump are to open their own pub and restaurant in December, following months of meticulous renovations at the Grade II-listed venue in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

The duo have both worked at prestigious venues including Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, where their hospitality skills have been finely honed.

The Greyhound is the next step in their careers, which they hope will become one of the UK's greatest gastropubs.

Daniel said: “We are really excited about our new venture. We have both had amazing careers to date and have worked with some incredible people over the years.”

Our own place

He added: “We are looking forward to bringing the best of what we’ve picked up to our own place.

“Having started my career as a kitchen porter, I sometimes have to pinch myself when I realise what we are doing now.

“It goes to show how our industry can open so many doors for so many people.

“It’s a dream come true and an incredibly proud moment for us both. The hard work starts now.”

Launching the Greyhound

Margriet added: “We are so pleased to be launching the Greyhound.

“We’re hoping the pub and restaurant will give people a place they can come to enjoy themselves and be comfortable, whether it’s for a delicious meal or for a quick drink.

“That’s why we have developed menus that give people lots of food options, as well as a wine list which is accessible to all.

“Beaconsfield is such an incredible place. The area has a special charm that we immediately fell for when we first visited.”
