The finalists have been announced, the votes cast and we’re ready to reveal the Pub Heroes of this year’s Great British Pub Awards (GBPA).

Hosted by witty magic man and television host Stephen Mulhern, the awards this year will celebrate the selfless work of the pub trade during lockdown.

From sheltering people in need, feeding people who had lost lifelines and access to supermarkets, and ensuring their communities’ spirits remained high, the past few months have shown just how great British pubs are.

And when we reveal the winners via a live-streamed event at 6pm on Thursday 24 September, you’re invited to watch and celebrate along with thousands of others. And here’s how:

  • Screach: hundreds of participating pubs have been given access to streaming technology to tune in on the night with their customers. Find out more by clicking the link above
  • Facebook: just search for Morning Advertiser on Facebook and give us a like. We’ll be streaming the even live on our Facebook page. Alternatively CLICK HERE to find out Facebook page
  • YouTube: head over to The Morning Advertiser’s YouTube channel where we’ll be screening the even live

It’s as simple as that. All free and easy to use as long as you have an internet connection and something to watch on.

Ahead of the event, Morning Advertiser editor Ed Bedington said: “This year has been incredibly tough for pubs across the country. But that hasn’t stopped this amazing trade from stepping up and supporting their communities, even when they themselves were struggling.

“Pubs are at the heart of their communities, we say it a lot, but this year we have seen it right across the country. Thousands and thousands of operators changed people’s lives for the better during lockdown and we’re going to celebrate them all this month.”
