There’s still time for operators to be in with a chance of bagging a top award in the industry’s most respected recognition scheme for leading pub companies.

The Publican Awards, which is looking to celebrate the successes of our sector in the face of major challenges and upheaval caused by the corona crisis, has extended the deadline for entries by two weeks to Friday 18 December.

Ed Bedington, editor of The Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, said: “We recognise that everyone is operating in unprecedented times and since launching the awards, we’ve had further challenges imposed by a Government that clearly does not understand hospitality and the pub and bar sector.

“As such, we’re giving everyone an extra two weeks to finalise their entries for these awards, awards which will help us to inform and promote the fact that this is a vibrant, responsible sector that contributes hugely to society in a number of vital ways, as well as being a huge employer and contributor to the national economy. Something that seems to have been forgotten in the current market environment.”

The awards aim to recognise excellence across the pub sector and celebrate the companies that are doing fantastic things despite the challenges they are currently facing and likely to continue to face for some time.

Bedington added: “I’d urge as many companies as possible to take advantage of the extra time and get your entries in. We want to celebrate as many of the amazing companies and the incredible things that you’ve been doing during this ongoing crisis. The more stories we can gather the better to help remind everyone of how important this sector is.”
