Suffolk-based Greene King was founded in 1799 and currently employs around 40,000 people across 2,900 sites spanning England, Wales and Scotland – of which in the region of 1,150 are tenanted, leased and franchised pubs.
In addition to reaching the final of this year’s Best Community Pub Operator, Greene King is also shortlisted in the Best Food Offer and Best Pub Employer categories.
Wells & Co
Formerly known as Charles Wells, independent, family-owned business Wells & Co was founded in 1876 and currently operates an estate of 190 pubs in the UK and 17 in France.
The operator is also a finalist in this year’s Best Managed Pub Company category.
OHH Pub Company
Also a finalist in the Best Accommodation category at this year's Publican Awards, the OHH Pub Company is a family run business that has grown from one small pub to a number of successful inns across the south west since it was founded in the 1980s.
The operator of four sites strives to offer its guests quality food and drink, quality accommodation and a quality experience against unique and atmospheric rural backdrops.
The operator of more than 700 leased, tenanted and operator managed sites across the UK, Hawthorn is a community pub operator which prides itself on a people-focused culture and boasting sites in in suburban locations, residential neighbourhoods, towns, city centres and communities.
The origins of Hawthorn go back to the acquisition of 202 pubs from Marston’s in 2013 by NewRiver, which then purchased Hawthorn and its 298 community pubs before integrating the two businesses and building what is currently the UK’s 7th largest tenanted pub company.
