Greene King pub in Cheshire relaunches after £250,000 investment
New tenants Marc Edmunds and Jess Bennett, already operate the Wellington pub in Bebington with Greene King Pub Partners and have combined their local knowledge and pub experience to transform the Red Lion with the joint investment.
Edmunds said: “This pub has such a standout location and looks beautiful now inside and out.
Welcoming customers back
“We have lots of tourism here, so we are really looking forward to welcoming back the local community and visitors alike.”
Having been redecorated in line with the traditional features of the pub, the internal layout has been improved with the bar relocated and walls removed so the space can be fully utilised and open.
A full trading kitchen has also been installed with a new menu of pub classics like fish and chips and Sunday roasts as well as cask ales with four hand pulls, a lager drinks range and proper coffee also introduced at the bar.
While the Red Lion has added a second site to Edmunds and Bennetts portfolio with Greene King Pub Partners, the division itself operates over 1000 leased, tenanted and franchise pubs across England, Scotland, and Wales with independent business partners.
Safe hands
In March 2021 the operator was recognised as the best leased and tenanted pub company at the Publican Awards, the 5th time Greene King Pub Partners has won the national industry award.
Greene King Pub Partners business development manager Peter Cunningham said: “The Red Lion is in safe hands with Marc and Jess at its helm.
“They know what makes a pub great and how to become central to the community and we wish them every success in this new venture.”
