SIBA Business Awards 2022: Entry deadline extended to 13 Feb

The entry deadline for the SIBA Business Awards 2022 has been extended to Sunday 13 February to ensure a wide variety of businesses from across the beer, brewing, hospitality and retail sectors are able to enter.

The SIBA Business Awards are organised by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), and seek to congratulate excellence in the brewing industry, from pump clip, to bottle design, to sustainability efforts. The awards also crown the UK’s best bars, restaurants and retails of craft beer from independent breweries.

The 2022 awards include new categories to respond to growth in online retail. These are called, ‘UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Retailer- Online’, ‘UK’s Best Independent Craft Brewery Webshop’, and ‘Community Engagement’; the latter award is for breweries which engage with and benefit their communities.

Biggest and best ever

The award for the ‘UK’s Best Independent Craft Brewery Taproom’ will return for 2022, following huge interest since its launch in 2020.

SIBA Business Awards chair Neil Walker said: “Judged by a panel of industry experts and presented in front of the largest gathering of beer and brewing professionals in the UK, the SIBA Business Awards 2022 really are a unique opportunity to get your beer or brewing business the recognition it deserves”.

According to Walker, the awards were set to be “our biggest and best ever”: a live show will take place at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre on Wednesday 16 March as part of the UK’s biggest beer trade event BeerX UK 2022.

Neil Walker will chair the judging panel. Amongst other industry experts, the panel is set to include editor of Independent Brewer Caroline Nodder, editor of BII News Kate Oppenheim and SIBA head of public affairs and policy Barry Watts.
