Emma McClarkin to talk at free licensing event

British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) boss Emma McClarkin OBE will be speaking at a free licensing event, held by licensing experts Poppleston Allen.

Operators will receive up-to-date information on licensing as well as health and safety challenges facing the industry.

Delegates will hear from experts from across the legal, licensing and property sector, who will provide an in-depth overview of various issues operators in hospitality need to know.

Taking place at Browns Covent Garden, central London next month (Wednesday 28 September), a number of legal professionals speaking at this free event.

This includes Poppleston Allen partner Graeme Cushion who will look at the importance of regulatory compliance.

Three Raymond Building barrister Saba Naqshbandi will discuss the regulatory sentencing regime and how to deal with issues when things go wrong.

Rob Easton of Shield Safety will showcase the Safe to Trade scheme and illustrate its impact on the hospitality sector.

Other speakers will include Poppleston Allen managing partner Lisa Sharkey who will discuss premises licence applications and pre-application planning.

Furthermore, leisure property expert Shelley Sandzer’s Ted Schama and Poppleston Allen partner Sarah Taylor will also be speaking.

BBPA chief executive Emma McClarkin will provide an overview of the UK pub sector and how it is trying to recover from the past few years of challenges.

The free event is open to business leaders from across the UK and runs from 10.30am until 4pm with drinks and networking to follow at Browns Covent Garden.
