Walkers reveals Christmas competition for publicans to win big
The festive season is one of the busiest times for the away-from-home channel, Walkers is looking to give back to operators and offer them a chance to win a much-deserved Christmas gift.
The prize will see a total of £10,000 up for grabs during the eight weeks preceding Christmas. One main winner will receive £1,000 per week and one runner up will win £250, ensuring a wider number of operators can have the chance to win cash for their pub.
PepsiCo away from home channel director Alastair Gore said: “Pubs and bars are an intrinsic part of local communities and pub and bar owners have gone through a great deal in recent years. With this competition, we want to give back to operators and support them this Christmas. By collaborating with Booker, who are a key distributor within the channel, we hope to offer some festive cheer in the run-up to Christmas.”
Walkers’ partnership with Booker Wholesale comes at the perfect time, with recent research highlighting that over a quarter of all pubs and bars shop for their crisps and snacks at Booker[1]. Sales of Britain’s favourite crisps[2] are soaring in depots, with Walkers singles growing at +66% vs 2021 YTD in the pubs and bars channel at Booker[3]. What’s more, Walkers singles have contributed +£2.3m to the Booker Crisps, Nuts and Snacks category in pubs – making it the single biggest segment of this market[4]. By stocking Walkers, operators will be able to capitalise on the incremental sales opportunity.
To enter, simply buy two qualifying cases of stock from Booker and text STOCKING followed by a space, the outlet name, your full name and postcode to 85100. The activation will run from midnight on 2nd November 2022 and will close at 23:59 on 27th December 2022. The competition is open to managers and key decision makers of pubs and bars who purchase single packs of Walkers, as well as grab bags of Doritos and Walkers Max, Nobbys Nuts and carded snacks such as Scampi Fries**.
