With challenges facing the sector and pub closures rising, how can CAMRA play a positive role to help the sector move forward?

Beer campaigners CAMRA have long campaigned for real ale and the pub sector more generally, but with more pubs closing according to their latest research what can they bring to the party to help change the narrative?

The Campaign for Real Ale was born out of a time of crisis, with real ale and cask beer on the brink of extinction, but with recent numbers released by CAMRA showing some 30 pubs a week closed in the first six months of the year, can the campaigners be part of the solution in turning the tide once again?

And with ageing demographics in both real ale drinkers and CAMRA's membership, how can the organisation stay relevant to younger drinkers?

Ed Bedington, MA editor, met up with CAMRA’s chief executive Tom Stainer at a rather loud Great British Beer Festival in London to see what was on the agenda for the group moving forward.
