Next chapter: Duo takes on third lease with Greene King Pub Partners

Cheshire-based multiple operators have taken on their third lease with Greene King Pub Partners, the leased, tenanted and franchised division of Greene King.

Lisa Salter and Lee Montgomery have reopened the Swan Inn in Wilmslow, previously known as the Anthology, after a joint £170,000 joint investment by them and pub owner Greene King.

The duo opened their first pub in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners in 2018.

Next chapter 

Alongside the Swan Inn, they also run Greene King sites the Dog & Partridge in Didsbury and the Crown in Heaton Moor.

The licensees said: “We are really excited for this next chapter in our growing pub business, which continues our already successful partnership with Greene King Pub Partners.

“The joint investment from Greene King has enabled us to transform the pub ready to deliver our vision for it.

“By renaming the pub the Swan inn, we have given a nod to the history of this site [as the Swan Hotel and being on Swan Street], which is really important to us and the local community.”

The pub has benefitted from upgrades to the main bar and a new booth seating area to compliment the new food offering, which will focus on pub classics and food from around the world.

Successful partnership 

Outside, what was the pub’s beer terrace has been transformed into a full beer garden providing an extra 40 covers outside along with booth seating and TVs ready to show the Euros this summer.

Earlier this month, the pubco announced its leased, tenanted and franchised division had opened a fifth site as part of its new concept, Nest Pubs.
