Wow factor: every inch of the Gloucester Old Spot’s outside area has been utilised

If you are looking for that individual, vibrant pub with quirky charm – the Gloucester Old Spot, in Bristol – could be just what you are looking for.

Located a stone's throw away from Bristol's famous independent Gloucester Road, The Old Spot offers that relaxed setting for a laid-back drinking and dining experience.

Space utilised

It has an enticing range of flavoursome dishes incorporating classic British ingredients with a creative twist and all at an affordable price.  With a variety of small plates, sharers and large plates there is something for everyone. All of this is accompanied by its exceptional range of cask ales, fine wines, artisan spirits and cocktails.

The pub has utilised every inch of space to offer a unique experience to both locals, families and visitors from further afield. The bar boasts a relaxed drinking area, while the main dining room has a charm all of its own.

But the real wow factor comes from the outside area which has been utilised to its full potential and can be used all year round.

Further plans

The vibrant beer garden has an outdoor bar, seating, covered heated terrace and marquee that means that the pub can cater for a variety of functions from weddings, to wakes, to birthday parties, while still hosting its local drinkers and has extra covers for that busy Sunday lunch trade.

The Gloucester Old Spot opened in September 2014 under the ownership of Amy Devenish. After 10 years Devenish is not resting on her laurels with more plans afoot for more of the same great service and continual development to keep the pub thriving for another 10 years.

This is a pub that has an enthusiastic and passionate licensee at the helm who is a deserved winner of the Stonegate Pub of the Year category.
