The company, which has partnered with its chosen charity, Young Lives vs Cancer since 2002, has now raised more than £24m for the organisation over the last two decades.
The charity helps children and young people with cancer and their families from the moment of diagnosis, providing financial grants to ease the burden of funding travel to hospital, food and extra clothes.
It also operates ten Homes from Home, which offer families a free place to stay nearby to hospital, keeping families together when they need each other most.
Their specialist social workers are also there to provide the right support, at the right time, from liaising with a child’s school to offering parents support when navigating the costs of cancer.
Fundraising activities across the years have included raffles and quizzes in pubs, while staff have conducted sponsored walks and climbs, and the company runs annual football and darts tournaments.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman, Tim Martin, said: “ We are immensely proud of our association with Young Lives vs Cancer. Our staff and customers do amazing work in raising so much money and we are thrilled that we have reached the £24 million milestone.
“We are looking forward to raising even more in the years ahead.”
