For this edition of The Morning Advertiser’s (The MA) Drinks Masterclass series, Heineken UK shares how to make a Honey & Apple Cider Sour cocktail.

Heineken UK cider brand Rachel Holms told The MA the cocktail recipe had been curated by “expert mixologists”, using accessible and classic bar ingredients.

She said: “An ode to the traditional, but with a twist, our sour is a bittersweet blend of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey, stirred with honey, lemon and crisp Inch’s apple cider (cowboy boots and toothpick chewing optional).”

Holms added Inch’s had seen “remarkable growth” in the on-trade in the past year: “Its Apple Cider has emerged as the UK’s fastest-growing cider brands, with a remarkable 49% growth in value over the previous year, according to data from CGA.

“With summer around the corner, Inch’s is well positioned to help operators capitalise on this momentum by broadening their offering to consumers and creating excitement and variety in their summer menus.”

The recipe can also be tailored to suit a variety of tastes. For example, by swapping the honey and Jack Daniels for 10ml of elderflower syrup and 50ml of prosecco, operators could make a Cider Spritz cocktail.

In addition, following the release of Inch’s 0.0 last week, the serve could easily be adapted into an alcohol free cocktail.
