Starring role: Farmer's Dog pub to feature in Amazon Prime TV series (Hawkstone)

Jeremy Clarkson’s pub has been confirmed to have a “starring role” in new upcoming Amazon Prime series.

The fourth series of the TV presenter and journalist’s hit reality series, Clarkson’s Farm, will return to Amazon Prime on Friday 23 May, with the star’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, set to feature prominently in the programme.

Sharing the news on its Instagram page, the Oxfordshire-based pub said: “Excited to read that our pub has a starring role in the new season of Clarkson’s Farm.

“If you want to see the pub or visit the tent with Annie’s breakfast baps and burgers, or Charlotte’s sausage rolls or simply enjoy a pint of cold Hawkstone while looking at one of the best views in the Cotswolds…come see us tomorrow or over this sunny weekend. You don’t have to wait to see us on television!”

Clarkson, known for hosting Top Gear and The Grand Tour, has been shining a light on the struggles faced by British farmers since the launch of Clarkson’s Farm in 2021.

The series showcases Clarkson’s attempt at running a farm in the countryside, named Diddly Squat, with no previous farming experience, supported by a more experienced team.

Following the first series’ success, Clarkson opened the Diddly Squat Farm Shop and later the Farmer’s Dog pub.

Challenging environment

He also started producing Hawkstone Lager at Diddly Squat Farm during the second series of Clarkson’s Farm, using his own spring barley to brew the beer.

Marston’s was the first national pub chain to serve Hawkstone Premium Lager, it was revealed in December, with it being poured at more than 100 of the pub company’s sites.

Last month, the lager and cider brand announced it would be giving away 1,000 free kegs of Hawkstone in March.

Clarkson has also previously written in his column for The Sunday Times about the struggles faced by pubs, describing the level of glass theft at the Farmer’s Dog as “extraordinary”.
