The Morning Advertiser (MA), which organises the awards, is calling on pubs across the UK to throw their hat in the ring to be in with a chance of winning the ultimate accolade and being declared the best pub in the country
Ed Bedington, editor of The MA, said: “These awards have been running for more than a quarter of a century now and are the ones to win if you’re running a great pub. We recognise excellence across a wide range of categories and styles of operations, picking out the best of the best.”

He added: “Winning at the Great British Pub Awards can make a massive difference to your business and can be a real shot in the arm during these challenging trading conditions.”

Last year’s winner was the Tollemache Arms, in Harrington, Northamptonshire, run by Joe Buckley and Flo Pearce.
On the pub’s success, Joe Buckley said: “The Great British Pub Awards win was incredible, we have been lucky to win many awards but this really was the one!
“It really put us on the map and brought in a lot of new customers and incredible press attention from, we had our busiest ever year. The team is buzzing and it’s been a great boost for morale.”
The awards will be taking place at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Wednesday 24 September for a celebration of epic proportions.
