This is the 10th site for Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox of Three Cheers Pub Co, who run iconic London pubs including the Bedford in Balham, the Bolingbroke in Battersea and the Abbeville in Clapham.
It opened its last pub - the Bedford in Balham - in December 2018.
Company investment
The company, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, has acquired the lease for 224 to 226 King’s Road, London, where a former bank will be transferred into a public house. With a £2.4m investment, Three Cheers Pub Co said it would be responsible for creating the first new public house on the road in “living memory.”
The pub will take its title, the Trafalgar Public House, from a previous site located at 200 King’s Road, Chelsea, of the same name and is set to open in autumn 2025.
Originally built in 1909 by architect Reginald Blomfield, the redevelopment of the two-story 4,735sq m site is part of the Cadogan’s Gaumont project which is designed to celebrate Chelsea’s cultural heritage and enhance its thriving creative scene.
Historic site
Three Cheers Pub Co owner Tom Peake said: “We are delighted to be taking on this historic site and creating a wonderful new public house, a home from home for Chelsea locals and visitors alike. We are proud to be a part of this exciting development and look forward to bringing a real sense of community and connection to the area that only a proper British pub can.”
In September 2017, the group opened the Princess Victoria in Shepherd’s Bush - in a pub formerly owned by Richard Branson.
The group is known for a premium food offer across its sites. Its pub the Avalon in Clapham has just launched its summer sharing roast where customers can have an alternative to the standard roast dinner with a slow-cooked Blixes Farm shoulder of lamb with Greek salad, quinoa tabbouleh, harissa yoghurt and homemade flatbread.
