New flavour innovation: Heineken UK releases Old Mout Mango & Passionfruit (Heineken UK)

Heineken UK has unveiled its latest innovation within the Old Mout cider brand.

The global brewer, which also owns Star Pubs, has introduced Old Mout Mango & Passionfruit, set to roll out across pubs and bars nationwide this month.

Available now in 500ml bottles, the new 4% ABV serve boasts marks the first innovation from Old Mout Cider in the past three years.

Heineken UK described the cider as “refreshing and tropical”, combining the juicy and tangy flavours of mango and passionfruit together to craft a vibrant and crisp beverage.

Growing fan-base

It is also vegan friendly and gluten free, with natural flavours and no added colours.

Heineken UK cider brand director Rachel Holms said: “As the biggest flavoured cider brand in the on-trade, it’s important to continue to appeal to the growing fan-base with new flavours - Old Mout Mango & Passionfruit will be the taste of the summer and requested in pub gardens across the country.”

To support the launch of Old Mout Mango & Passionfruit, the cider brand will feature the new flavour in its two-year long Moutopia campaign across a variety of multi-media formats as well as in its latest summer influencer campaign.

Heineken added packaged premium flavoured cider has continued to perform well in the on-trade, growing to 71% of cider sales in the fridge.

According to the global brewer, Old Mout sales from the start of this year are already 40% compared to 2024.

Creating excitement

Mango & Passionfruit joins the brand’s line-up of flavours – including Berries & Cherries, Kiwi & Lime and Pineapple & Raspberry.

Holms continued: “By creating excitement and variety in our offer, we aim to recruit new and younger drinkers to the category and continue to capitalise on the momentum of Old Mout’s growth.”

Data from Heineken UK’s 2025 Cider Report, released in March, showed the category was now worth more than £2bn for pubs, with flavoured premium serves delivering around £9,700 in value per pub per year.

Earlier this year, Heineken UK also expanded its Inch’s cider range to include a 0.0% version as well as a new apple flavour.

In addition, last month, Heineken UK partnered with RTD brand Served to launch new draught cocktails for the on-trade.
