Global Brands launches TAKE Tequila Blanco to on-trade

TAKE Tequila Blanco launches into on-trade
Product launch: the 38% ABV tipple has a 'crisp, fresh taste' (Global Brands)

TAKE Tequila, owned by Global Brands, has officially launched its premium Blanco into the UK on-trade.

The 38% ABV Tequila is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave and double-distilled in copper column stills in Jalisco, Mexico.

The Blanco joins TAKE’s range of flavoured Tequila liqueurs – Jalapeño, Pink Grapefruit, and Pineapple.

Tequila Blanco is described as having “a crisp, fresh taste with delicate floral notes and a touch of citrus,” and its sweetness is a “perfect base” for creating Margarita cocktails.

Sales data

Tequila is growing in the on-trade. CGA data reports a 3.2% rise in the spirit‘s value in the on-trade last year, reaching £276m, despite an overall decline in total spirits sales.

The category is seeing especially strong growth in large venues, where Tequila sales have surged by up to 26.6%.

The Morning Advertiser’s Drink List 2025 also revealed growth in Tequila while the gin bubble had burst.

“TAKE Tequila Blanco is all about delivering a premium agave experience whilst keeping things fresh and adaptable behind the bar. It’s a true celebration of traditional Tequila-making, but with the same playful spirit and versatility that TAKE is known for,” said Holly Bolus, senior brand manager at Global Brands.

“Tequila is no longer just for shots; it’s becoming the backbone of the UK’s most-loved cocktails, with the Margarita still reigning as the number one serve nationwide.”

Pushing boundaries

Bolus added: “TAKE Blanco is ideal for classic builds, but it also plays beautifully with contemporary twists, giving bars plenty of scope to push boundaries and surprise guests.”

In March, Global Brands introduce Hooch Lemon in draught format for pubs. The 3.4% ABV vodka and real fruit juice offering had previously been available in packaged format.

Tequila has been growing in popularity over recent years. In 2022, sales of Tequila grew in the on-trade by a 106%.
