First to showcase the new look site was a refurbishment in Manchester in April this year. The branding is set to be expanded to two sites in St Albans in October 2025 and Swansea early in 2026.
The interior scheme has been designed by Cassie Nicholas, winner of BBC’s Interior Design Masters, who has worked with artisans and manufacturers to create and produced one off wallpapers, fabrics, light fittings, seating and carpets.
In Reading, the venue has a newly elevated menu of modern British classics and Cosy Club specials created in collaboration with award-winning chef and TV personality John Hooker.
Cosy Club evolution
The menu has seen the introduction of several premium suppliers, including Aubrey Allen family butchers, and this has been rolled out across the 37-strong Cosy Club estate.
As part of Cosy Club’s evolution, the company has also introduced a new logo and a “retro-infused” staff uniform.
Cosy Club managing director Lucy Knowles said: “The new look Cosy Club is quite a departure from what we have done before.
“We’ve really ramped up the glamour, sophistication and opulence, introducing warmer, softer and more elegant interiors inspired by the timeless aesthetics of the 1970s and ’80s.”
Radical change
She added: “This is the most radical change to Cosy Club since it burst onto the scene back in 2010. We have always known how to party, look after our guests and give them excellent food and drink, only now, it’s even more special.”
Cosy Clubs are more formal bars/restaurants offering reservations and table service but share many similarities with the Lounges in terms of their broad, all-day offering.
They are typically located in city centres and large market towns. Interiors tend to be larger and more theatrical than a Lounge, and are often situated in heritage buildings or first-floor spaces.
Loungers operates through three divisions - Lounge, Cosy Club and Brightside.
Earlier this month it was revealed that OakNorth Bank had provided £30m to support Fortress Investment Group and Lion Capital’s acquisition of Loungers.
