However, 22% disagreed and 11% neither agreed nor disagreed. The remaining said they ‘didn’t know’ or did not receive any information to support the rent offer.
This research from the PCA’s 2025 Annual Tied Tenants Survey asked these questions to tenants in order to better understand the level of satisfaction.
The data, revealed exclusively to The Morning Advertiser (The MA), found four in 10 tenants have negotiated or renegotiated their rent in the past two years.
Information and support
Of those that renegotiated at rent review 62% were satisfied with the information provided from their pubco, but 21% of them disagreed and said they were not satisfied.
Another 15% said they neither agreed or disagreed or didn’t know. But 2% said they had not received any information to support the rent offer.
The survey also revealed just over half (51%) said that the information helped them in negotiations.
Just under a quarter (23%) disagreed while 23% neither agreed or disagreed or didn’t know. The remaining confirmed they had no information to support the negotiation.
The survey did not collect data on how much rents have changed.
