Founded by former England cricketer Stuart Broad and ex-Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire player Harry Gurney, the company has shared plans to open a new pub in Staffordshire.
The site, located on Manor Drive in Burton-on-Trent, is currently known as The Winery but will be rebranded and reopen as The Long Hop.
Exciting next step
It is expected to open on Friday 1 August. Bookings will go live soon and guests have been encouraged to keep an eye on social media for updates.
Commenting on the new opening, Broad said: “This is a really exciting next step for us.
“Burton has such a proud brewing history and strong sense of community, we’re looking forward to becoming part of that and sharing what we do best.”
The Long Hop will bring the Cat & Wickets’ signature blend of fantastic food, outstanding drinks, and warm hospitality to Burton, all delivered with a touch of cricketing charm.
Perfect fit
While the venue will evolve in the coming months, the team is committed to preserving the character of the building as part of its next chapter.
Gurney added: “We’ve been on the lookout for the right location for some time, and this site felt like the perfect fit. The team is ready to hit the ground running and we’re buzzing to bring the Long Hop to life.”
The Long Hop joins The Tap & Run in Upper Broughton and The Griffin Inn in Swithland as part of The Cat & Wickets Pub Company’s growing portfolio of award-winning pubs.
