The Suffolk-based operator and brewer said it was on track to invest £27m into its pub estate in 2025.
Funds will be used to support businesses by refurbishing and transforming leased, tenanted and franchise pubs across England and Scotland this year.
The investments include internal and external refurbishments as well as transformational developments designed to help Greene King’s Pub Partner’s grow their pub businesses and deliver the best possible experience for their customers and communities.
Long-term commitment
This latest investment follows capital expenditure of £23m in 2023 and again in 2024. Greene King Pub Partners, which operates more than 950 pubs, attributed high occupancy rates within its estate to the investments.
In addition, the investments have helped it to attract new talent to run its leased, tenanted and franchise pubs, with more than 100 new tenants, lessees and franchisees recruited in 2024, according to Greene King.
Greene King Pub Partners managing director Dan Robinson said: “We are incredibly proud of the continued investment we are making in our pubs.
“Hitting £27m of investment this year is a clear sign of our long-term commitment to supporting our partners and the communities we serve, especially at a time when pubs are facing rising costs.
“This sustained investment is part of our strategy to ensure our pubs remain vibrant, sustainable businesses at the heart of local communities – whether they are leased, tenanted or franchise.
Backing pubs
“We know how important pubs are to the social and economic fabric of the UK – and we’re proud to play our part in backing them.”
Last month, the company announced it had injected almost £42m into more than 100 of its pub and smokehouse restaurants in the first half of 2025.
About half (£24m) went into 62 of the firm’s managed sites, which comprises Greene King pubs and Destination Brands.
Other project highlights included a £1.1m investment at the Railway, by London’s Liverpool Street station.
Greene King also revealed plans to extend the roll out of Hickory’s with 10 openings planned throughout this year, building on the six new smokehouses opened in 2024.
