The recently launched initiative recognises venues that go above and beyond to deliver exceptional cask ale experiences, demonstrating the important role of passionate operators in leading the cask beer category into the future.
The Cask Ale Quality Club was recognised during this year’s Cask Ale Week, which takes place between 18th to 28th September.
Named as a ‘local pub legends’, the pubs were chosen for their commitment to quality, consistency and community.
Pub Culture
The six pubs are the Front in Falmouth; the Mariners in Rock; the Golden Lion in Padstow; the Ship Inn in Lerryn; the Cornishman in Crantock and the Pheasant in St Newlyn East.
Venues received premium POS materials including specially designed pump clip toppers, masterbrand pump handles, as well as access to exclusive digital training and promotional assets.
Sharp’s Brewing Co. marketing controller Nigel Maguire said: “Cask beer is an important part of British pub culture, but it relies on the skill and dedication of those serving it.
“Our Cask Quality Club is designed to celebrate and support the pubs who maintain the highest standards in serving the perfect pint.
Reinvigorating the category
“During Cask Ale Week we’re proud to champion these local pub legends, who not only uphold the highest standards of cask quality but also play a vital role in reinvigorating the category. Their dedication is at the heart of why cask ale continues to matter – and that’s something worth celebrating.”
Owner of the Golden Lion in Padstow Martin Rickard added: “We’ve always believed that a great pint of cask ale is more than just a drink, it’s an experience. Joining Sharp’s Cask Quality Club is a real honour.”
Through initiatives like the Cask Quality Club, Sharp’s said it is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to supporting pubs and reinvigorating the cask ale category.
