For the full year ending 30 March 2025, the group increased total revenue by 63% to £29.6m, up from £18.2m in the year prior, while like-for-like sales grew by 2.7%. Adjusted group EBITDA turned positive to £0.8m.
CEO Mark McGinty said: “We are proud of the progress made this year — from expanding our footprint to improving profitability and securing new funding. Our flexible operating model, strong partnerships, and deep community focus have positioned us well for continued growth.”
During the period (November 2024), Valiant appointed Andy Parker as its new MD of operations, brought in to shape and drive its strategic vision, amid the group’s expansion.
Its 70th site, the Elephant & Castle in Shropshire, was acquired in October last year.
During the period, Valiant increased its estate to 80 pubs across the UK, with 24 acquisitions, leading to its expansion in the North, Midlands and Wales, and a growing foothold in the South.
Food and rooms
The group moved away from wet-led, prioritising investments with food and rooms, which contribute to higher average weekly sales.
During the year, Valiant introduced a new group structure in a bid to streamline operations, secure debt financing and support its long-term growth objectives.
The pub company secured a new £12m facility from Metro Bank, with a further £14m facility drawn post year-end, bringing total committed bank funding to £26m, supporting continued growth.
Further acquisitions
The group says it is “pursuing further acquisitions” to extend its reach across more of the UK, and that the financial backing from strategic partner Njord Partners leaves it well-positioned for the next phase of expansion.
Co-founder of Njord Partners, Arvid Trolle, added: “We are pleased with Valiant’s strong results this year, which clearly demonstrate that our commitment to revitalising community pubs is delivering real success. Building on this momentum, I am confident that the entire Valiant team will continue to achieve great performance and make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”
