The facility, which is the global brewer’s first UK-based unit of its kind, is located at the Magor Brewery in Monmouthshire. It was officially opened by Minister for Trade Christ Byrant MP on Thursday 4 December.
Owned by AB InBev, which has a portfolio of 29 alcohol free beers, BBG said the investment would strengthen its UK supply chains and meet rising demand for low and no beer.
Vote of confidence
The new facility will see brands including Stella Artois 0.0 and Corona Cero brewed in the UK for the first time, supporting BBG’s sustainability goals by reducing beer miles and expanding its manufacturing capacity.
Attending the opening, Bryant said: “Low and alcohol-free options have been transformed in recent years and thanks to this significant investment in south Wales drinkers across the country will have yet more choice at home or in the pub.

“This is a real vote of confidence in our world-class manufacturing sector, proving yet again that the UK remains a smart choice for investors, delivering jobs and long-term growth around the country.”
AB InBev BU west president Brian Perkins added the investment marked a “significant step forward” in BBG’s UK operations.
New way
He continued: “It enables us to strengthen our manufacturing footprint in Wales, build our local supply chain, and demonstrates our commitment to delivering products that support consumer choice and moderation.
“Magor has long been a centre of innovation for Budweiser Brewing Group, and this facility helps secure its role for the future, paving a new way for drinking responsibly in the UK.
“At the heart of this investment is our commitment to giving people great-tasting options for every occasion. Whether consumers choose alcohol or alcohol-free, they can enjoy the same high quality, world-class brewing they expect from our brands.”
