As we approach the release of our 2025 Impact Report, it’s been a transformative year for the LTC.
We launched our inaugural Wellbeing Conference, revealed a fresh new look and feel for our brand, worked closely with our corporate partners to deliver a reinvigorated Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), and launched new services to help us to continue delivering on our mission to transform lives and unleash the potential of those who are currently working, or have previously worked, in the licensed hospitality sector.
It’s no secret that while a career in hospitality is one of the most exciting and rewarding you can pursue, this is a challenging time for our industry. Throughout 2025, we supported 45,000 people facing pressures that were affecting their wellbeing and awarded £2m in financial grants and services.
This is a step up from 40,000 people helped and £1.5m in grants and services in 2024, demonstrating the impact of our increased awareness, EAP outreach, and enhanced fundraising efforts. Hospitality is, at its heart, a people‑first industry, and our impact is testament to the fantastic people who work for and support the LTC.
Life-changing speed of help
This year, one of the areas where we’ve seen the greatest need is wellbeing support. While many people wait months for NHS appointments – with maximum waits of 126 days for counselling – at the LTC, we can match individuals to a counsellor in just one day. That speed can be life-changing, helping people to feel supported before issues escalate.
But matching people with professional help at that pace requires funding. Just £650 can provide up to 10 counselling sessions for someone in our industry – a level of support that can completely transform a person’s wellbeing, family life and ability to stay in work. This is why fundraising remains so vital to our mission.
And what a year of fundraising it’s been. I continue to be blown away by the generosity and determination of our community. This year’s Hospitality Rides challenge saw cyclists push themselves through 400km of extreme terrain in Taiwan, raising an astounding £420,000 for the LTC and Only A Pavement Away.
Meanwhile, Pedalling To Pubs brought riders to the Lake District for a gruelling 220km challenge, generating another £110,000 for both charities. These are incredible achievements, not only because of the money raised, but because they demonstrate what this sector is capable of when we come together.
We have significant plans in the pipeline for 2026, including opening our third specialist autism school, Kennington School in Hampshire. This forms part of our long-term strategy and commitment to widen access to high-quality inclusive education across the UK. We are also launching new fundraising initiatives and investing in ways to grow our awareness, allowing us to support even more people in our sector.
£3m goal
Looking ahead, we remain committed to our five‑year growth plan. Our goals include:
• Ensuring one in two people in the licensed hospitality industry know of the LTC by 2028
• Providing £3m per annum of charitable giving by 2028 in the form of grants and services
• Achieving a fundraising target of £1m per annum by 2028
• Continuing to innovate and adapt the school curriculum to educate and enable our pupils to unleash their full potential
• Further growing our educational footprint to leverage our scale and acquire a further independent mainstream private school.
We look forward to sharing more in the coming months. For now, I invite everyone to read our full 2025 Impact Report when it is published this month. We are incredibly proud of everything we achieved last year and how it reflects the compassion and resilience of the people in our industry.
To everyone who has got behind us, who has helped us to raise awareness, donated, or fundraised for us, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you from all of us at LTC, because without you we cannot do what we do. Together, we can continue building a community where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive, no matter what the year ahead brings.
The 2025 Impact Report will be available to download on the LTC’s website later this month.
