London expansion: Young’s Dodd reveals the group is looking to expand in the capital (Young's)

Young’s CEO Simon Dodd has revealed the group is looking to expand its estate through the acquisition of smaller one or two site groups.

In an interview with Peel Hunt, Dodd said the focus for the premium pub operator was on expanding its estate within London, especially in the City and West End.

“We want to look at growing more pubs within London,” he said.

He added that as well as freeholds, the group was also exploring opportunities for ‘really great quality leases’ as it ‘opens up greater opportunities’ in the capital.

It comes after Young’s acquired City Pub Group in 2023, which Dodd said accelerate Young’s growth by five years.

“We’re not in a great rush to do [another] big acquisition,” he continued. “But we are starting to look at ones and twos and small groups now.”
