The Brown Cow in Fulham is set to receive significant investment to double capacity at the site, having acquired the neighbouring property to the venue.
Electric shuffle boards, live-sport screening and new meeting and dining spaces will also be introduced as part of the refurb in response to growing demand for experience-led pub visits.
Strong performance
The development is also expected to double the size of the pub’s labour team, supporting local employment opportunities and strengthening Butcombe’s presence in Fulham.
Based in the Channel Islands, the business, which operates 118 pubs and is finalist in this year’s Publican Awards, said standout sales across its managed estate in London enabled the investment, with like-for-like sales in the capital up 11.6%.
Alongside this strong performance, an earlier phase of investment at the Brown Cow drove such rapid growth in demand and guest numbers, which also prompted the need for this expansion.
Exciting market
Butcombe COO Jayson Perfect said: “London continues to be a hugely exciting market for us, and the Brown Cow is a fantastic example of how our pubs can thrive when we combine excellent teams, prime locations and unbeatable guest experiences.
“We’ve seen a real shift in what customers want when visiting a pub – they’re looking for spaces where they can socialise, celebrate, watch sport or enjoy activities together. This redevelopment gives us the opportunity to build those experiences into the heart of the venue.
“We’re proud to report the strength of our London portfolio over the past year, and this investment will allow us to welcome even more guests, whilst creating meaningful new employment in Fulham. As we continue to grow in the capital, we remain committed to investing in the pubs, people and communities that make our estate so special.”
