Pubs come in all shapes and sizes, and some have more rules than others, but they all share the same set of unwritten rules - but do they anymore?
The Lock In team takes a look at the breakdown in pub behaviour, and asks the big question - is this just representative of society as a whole?
Of course we don’t really. We just make a few bad jokes and let Heath complain about his customers!
To help us with our lament, we spoke to Dianne Irving of Drouth in Cumbria and Mark Whiteman of the Kiverton Tap in Sheffield to chat about why we need rules in the pub. We catch up with author and beer writer Adrian Tierney-Jones (still waiting for that postal order, Adrian) to discuss the more draconian operators - cough, Sam Smiths - and we speak to South London operators Phil Sutton of the Perry Hill Pub and Stephen Boyd of the Alma about the joys of parents and children sharing pub spaces.
And we finish off with a group therapy session with three great operators (and Heath) chatting customer behaviour and what gets their goats. Alan Parry and Craig Gordon, who run Home restaurant in Barnes and Putney and the recently retired Brendan Padfield, late of the Unruly Pig, join us for some hilarious (honest) views on their customers.
So tune in now - and let us know your customer stories!
