Strong demand for Guinness in the UK and Ireland contributed to 8.8% growth in net sales in Europe for Diageo.

The drinks manufacturer reported substantial growth in Guinness in the first quarter of 2026, led by Great Britain and Ireland, alongside 0.3% growth in quarterly organic net sales across the business.

Great Britain net sales grew 2.9%, driven primarily by double-digit growth in Guinness. This was partly offset by softness in spirits where net sales declined mid-single-digit.

However, Guinness sustained strong growth, notably in the on-trade where it continued to drive positive share gain and significantly outperformed the category.
