The awards, which are run in partnership with the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, aim to celebrate pubs that go above and beyond to support their local communities.
Free to enter, award finalists will be invited alongside their MP, to the ceremony at the House of Commons on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
Deserved recognition
Categories include Community Support Hero and Charity Fundraising Hero aim to highlight the breadth of ways pubs make a difference locally.
Last year’s winners included the Victoria Inn, East Lothian as well as the Royal Oak in Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton after more than 700 entries were received.
PubAid co-founder Des O’Flanagan said: We’re delighted to reopen the Community Pub Hero Awards for 2026 and to welcome Diageo as our sponsor.
“Every year we are inspired by the incredible work pubs do to support their communities, often in creative and impactful ways that deserve recognition.”
This year’s headline sponsor is Diageo. Head of public affairs GB Zara Harrington outlined how awards such as these highlight the impact the on-trade has on local areas.
Heart of communities
She said: “Pubs sit at the heart of communities across Great Britain and we’re proud to partners with PubAid on this year’s Community Pub Hero Awards in parliament.
“These awards shine a vital light on the impact pubs have far beyond their doors and we look forward to celebrating the individuals and teams whose dedication makes such as lasting difference.”
Entries are open until Monday 8 July.
The categories are:
- Community Support Hero
- Charity Fundraising Hero
- Community Sport Hero
- Commuity Sustainability
Previous research from PubAid’s Pubs Power Sport report last year found pubs poured £40m into grassroots and community sports clubs in the prior 12 months.
Furthermore, it also showed about six in 10 pubs support a sport-related initiative and those that do facilitate an average of 20 hours of physical activity a month within their communities.
