Community pub aims for success in Canary Wharf

The co-founder of a brand new pub in one of London’s biggest business district outlines his plans for the Tallyman in Canary Wharf.

The team behind the successful pubs the Somerstown Coffee House near Euston, and the Victoria in Mile End, are now set to move further east in London and bring a traditional boozer to the high rises of the Docklands.

Anthony Pender and the team that also created fish-focused restaurant Faber in Hammersmith, will be blending elements of all the previous businesses to open up the Tallyman on the site of a former post office in Canary Wharf.

MA editor Ed Bedington took the DLR over to the historic docks to meet up with Pender and hear more about his vision for a community pub in the heart of one of London’s biggest financial districts.
