Carlsberg has reported ‘solid top-line development and earnings growth’ for the first half-year despite a ’challenging and volatile’ macro environment.

In the results, the Danish brewer says it is narrowing full-year earnings guidance towards the upper end of the range amid disciplined cost focus, performance management and faster-than-expected delivery of the Britvic synergies.

Over the six months to 30 June, Carlsberg saw total volume growth of 2.8%.

Organic volume growth for the period was 1.7%, rising 0.1% in Western Europe, 0.0% in Asia, and 6.2% in Central & Eastern Europe and India.

Across different categories, the greatest organic growth was in alcohol-free brews at +11%, followed by soft drinks at +9%.

Of its international brands, Pepsi saw growth of 17%, followed by Carlsberg at 6% and Tuborg at 3%.

Revenue for the period rose 2.7%, while operating profit grew 5.9%.

“Carlsberg delivered solid top-line and earnings growth for the first half-year despite the continued uncertain macro environment, and we saw sustained good progress on our key strategic priorities, with particularly strong growth for soft drinks and alcohol-free brews,” says Jacob Aarup-Andersen, group CEO.

Additionally, the Britvic integration is progressing ahead of plan, and Carlsberg now expects to deliver approximately 50% of the £110m synergies in 2026 compared to the previous expectation of between 30 and 40%.
