Designed by high-profile interior designer Russell Sage, Cedric’s is being billed as the first pub to open within a private members’ club in London.
The new space is said to offer “a fresh interpretation of the quintessential British pub”, combining the warmth and familiarity of a traditional local with Home House’s “playful personality and design-led approach to hospitality”.
The menu will include butcher’s Cumberland sausages; monkfish scampi; Cedric’s smashed burger; and Chelsea bun bread and butter pudding.
Cedric’s is the latest in a series of pub concepts to launch within perhaps unlikely high-end hospitality settings.
Last month, luxury Hampshire country house hotel Heckfield Place opened the Workman’s Bar, which takes inspiration from a traditional pub and serves food alongside local craft beers, fine wines and reworked classic British drinks.
Crafted at Powdermills, the East Sussex hotel and members’ club from Birch co-founder Chris King that opened at the end of last year, also has an upmarket pub concept on site.
Five-star North Wales hotel Palé Hall, meanwhile, recently relaunched the Bryntirion Inn.
Located at the entrance to the hotel’s estate, the 300-year-old pub with rooms now has a food offer overseen by Palé Hall chef partner Luke Selby, who joined the business in January following his departure from Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
