What do Lewis Hamilton and MySkySports.com have in common?

They are both good at driving success. Lewis on the racing track and MySkySports.com, in pubs and bars. Here’s how:

2019 has seen record figures for out of home viewing for Formula 1 on Sky. The Monaco Grand Prix, alone, attracted the highest ever out of home viewing for both the race (885k) and qualifying session (690k)[1]. MySkySports.com has helped licensees up and down the country promote their venues as the place to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

A family-run free house in the heart of the Weald of Kent, pouring local ales and serving fresh homemade food, “just like Mum’s”, is a far cry from the champagne-drenched-podium of the Grand Prix. However, with MySkySports.com, footfall has increased by 25% for The Star pub in Rolvenden. “We never used to have anyone watching Formula 1, our regulars are football and cricket fans,” commented Yvonne Mallinson, co-owner of the pub. “However, since we have been using the Fixture Planner and posting on our social media account, we have seen such an increase in passing trade and a huge interest in Formula 1. Good job we have two Sky boxes, with more requests for different sports, we can keep everyone happy!”

Yvonne and her business partner, Lyn Walker, are lifelong friends who owned a coffee shop in London, before moving to Kent and buying The Star. Speaking about their experience with MySkySports.com, Yvonne continued, “I’ll be honest I am not particularly brilliant with mobiles, computers or apps. However, I found all the tools on MySkySports.com really quite easy and it is so useful to have all our pub’s account integrated into the platform. We can post on social media, order posters and publicise what we are showing, all with a couple of clicks of a button.”
