HEINEKEN UK is the nation’s leading beer, cider and pub company and the name behind a host of brilliant brands from Inch’s to Birra Moretti.
We’re committed to supporting a thriving on-trade, underpinned by an ethos of ‘Helping Grow Your Business.’ In owning approximately 2,400 pubs, we test out products and advice before sharing this knowledge with our customers, while our expert team offer dedicated support.
Our Brew a Better World 2030 strategy drives delivery against our sustainability and responsibility ambitions, addresses environmental and social challenges and helps our business become fit for the future. We have an ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions in production (scopes 1 and 2).[1] As a brewer, supplier, and pub operator, we understand the importance of making meaningful changes across all areas of our business to help reach these targets.
For example, in 2023, we announced an investment of £25 million to install brand-new, state-of-the-art heat pump network at our Manchester brewery. Once completed this year, it will capture thermal energy in the production process to reuse in brewing and packaging beer, significantly reducing on-site gas use.
[1] We have defined this goal as a 90% emissions reductions across Scopes 1 & 2. A maximum of 10% residual emissions that cannot be eliminated otherwise must be covered with permanent carbon removal and storage solutions – Heineken Global.
