The East Dart Hotel, which was built by the present owners' great-great-grandfather in 1862, is up for grabs in Postbridge, Dartmoor.
And the freehouse has a unique feature - it offers equestrian-friendly facilities such as stables and paddocks.
'This would be suitable for a horse-loving family or offer extra income as a separate concern,' said Paul Reilly of Stonesmith.
'The owners have been at the hotel for the past eight years and have established the business to attract a variety of visitors. It's the perfect base for walking, cycling, riding or touring holidays.'
'They have also concentrated on the freehouse side of the business building up a reputation for their food.
'But potential exists to market the hotel side, by promoting its facilities and accommodation throughout the year.'
He said Postbridge, which was probably best known for its famous medieval bridge, was one of the top three hot spots on Dartmoor.
The detached property has a separate owner's cottage. The main hotel entrance provides access to the residents' lounge, a 30-cover restaurant/function room and the main bar.
Stonesmith has set an asking price of £425,000 for its 'duchy' lease.
