The New World Trading Company (NWTC) opened the latest branch of its award-winning bar and restaurant concept the Florist at intu Watford on 22 April.

The Florist’s 9,000sq ft venue in Watford’s £180m shopping centre – which opened in September 2018 – will offer contemporary cocktails, a selection of more than 60 beers and ales, weekend DJ sets and a diverse food menu ranging from dishes with a contemporary Asian influence to a bottomless Sunday roast as well as non gluten, dairy free and vegan options.

The latest site was announced by NWTC in April 2018 when chief executive Chris Hill commented: “We’re really excited to bring the Florist to Watford – the food and cocktails are so distinctive and I’m confident customers will be delighted by the unique concept the Florist has to offer.”

The concept’s Watford expansion becomes the Florist’s third venue having already put down roots in Bristol and Liverpool – with the latter a finalist in the 2019 Publican Awards’ Best New Pub/Bar category.

The latest expansion follows a £5.6m cash injection from NatWest into NWTC IN September 2018 in a bid to help fund the pub company’s roll-out programme.

Exciting brand

The Florist general manager David Morbin commented: “We’re really excited to have opened the Florist at intu Watford.

“The centre is already a very popular and vibrant retail and leisure destination, and we’re very pleased to be offering a new dining and drinking experience to this affluent catchment.”

Intu regional managing director Rebecca Ryman added: “The Florist is another exciting brand that will really benefit from our investment at intu Watford and the new space we have created.

“We know it is going to do well here. This is a very affluent area with lots of people working in and around Watford so there is real demand for the kind of compelling experiences customers can expect at a venue like the Florist.”
