Your opinion wanted on race equality in workplace
The Insights into Action webinar, which takes place on Monday 22 November, is coupled with the not-for-profit group’s second Inside Hospitality Survey to study how equity, diversity and inclusion has moved in the past 12 months since the business’s first survey of this kind.
This year’s survey sets out to understand the status quo within all areas of hospitality including contract catering, pubs, bars, hotels and restaurants by benchmarking 2020 with 2021 results, facilitating learning and informing the actions necessary.
Removing financial barrier
Lorraine Copes, founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality, which has a mission to drive education, amplify voices, build a strong community and accelerate racial equality in the hospitality sector, said: “Coming out of a pandemic in 2021 has naturally meant that cash in some instances has acted as a barrier to purchase the report for some organisations. We wanted to remove this challenge and encourage all companies within the industry to share this survey among all employees at all levels.
“I truly believe that in order to move the dial forward on equity, diversity and inclusion we must really understand the problems that we are all working towards addressing.”
Moving forward
Be Inclusive Hospitality said the 2022 report will then act as an informative sector report, that all ‘agents of change’ and business leaders can use to inform their equity, diversity and inclusion strategies moving forwards.

This year’s survey, which will result in the Inside Hospitality Report, due for a March 2022 release is set to become a free-of-charge resource for the entire industry. The report’s release will be marked by an in-person event that will present the findings.
