Entries are still open for the Great British Pub Awards with a deadline extension giving pubs an extra week to be in with the chance of winning a top title.

The entry deadline for the awards has now been extended to 29 May to give pubs a last minute chance to avoid missing out on the pub industry’s top awards.

Ed Bedington, editor of the Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, said: “We’re conscious that time is precious for all operators, so we’re giving you an extra week to finish off those entries and get them over the line.

“This competition is the one to win for pubs, with previous winners seeing significant uplifts in business as a result of their win. And with the challenging times we’re facing, any uplift is well worth it.”

There are three new categories in this year’s competition, alongside the regular categories. These include Best Sustainable Pub, Best Country/Rural Pub and Best City/Urban Pub.

Judges will be looking for sustainable practices throughout the operation of the business, from food and drink sourcing, to waste and energy reductions practices.
(NEW) Best Country/ Rural Pub – Open to all pubs in a rural/village setting. This is for a pub that is doing an exceptional job across the board, offering high standards with its overall offer and great service in superb surroundings that caters for their target market
(NEW) Best City/ Urban Pub – Open to all pubs in a urban/city setting. This is for a pub that is doing an exceptional job across the board, offering high standards with its overall offer and great service in superb surroundings that caters for their target market.
