The hunt is now on for this year’s leading luxury hotel voters, as the Top 50 Boutique Hotels list moves into its second year.

At its launch last year, the list, which is sponsored Taylors of Harrogate and organised by The Morning Advertiser (MA), saw the Newt in Somerset take the number one spot, with its stunning grounds offering sanctuary and refuge from the busy modern world through beautiful landscapes and exquisite service.

But that was then, and this is now, as the list moves into its second year, the MA is once more kickstarting the hunt for this year’s top 50 – will the Newt hold onto its top spot, or will some of the best hotels in the sector be looking to knock it from its perch?

Industry experts

The Top 50 Boutique Hotels follows on from the success of the Top 50 Cocktail Bars and the hugely popular long running Top 50 Gastropubs. All three lists celebrate excellence across their sectors, and, together, offer the best places in the UK to eat, drink and sleep.

The lists are created by collecting votes from an academy of over 100 industry experts who put forward four hotels, gastropubs, or cocktail bars within the UK they deem the best.

The academy is split evenly across the UK to ensure no regional bias, each voter must include at least one operator within their geographical region.

From Fife to Penzance, the Boutique Hotels list provides travellers with exceptional stays throughout the UK.

Votes collected

The current list ranges from Grade II-listed manor houses to country pubs with boutique rooms, there’s something for everyone. Each hotel on the list has been handpicked by our academy and has outstanding service, beautiful design, and unique experiences – this really is the industry’s choice.

To help curate this year’s list, the Top 50 team are now looking for hotel and UK writers, operators with rooms, hoteliers, bloggers, designers and hotel enthusiasts to put their names forward to help create the 2022 list, which will be revealed later this year.

If you are interested in taking part then please email puneyv.gbzarl@jeoz.pbz with a small paragraph on why you’d be suitable. Votes will be collected in September for the announcement at the awards ceremony in November.
