New World Trading Company (NWTC) chief operating officer Natasha Waterfield is set to join Big Fang Collective as chief executive officer.

Waterfield had been at NWTC for eight years across two roles – HR director and chief operating officer.

She has been appointed CEO at entertainment venue operator and owner of the Golf Fang brand Big Fang Collection.

The business was founded by Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger in 2016 when they opened their first site in Liverpool, in the city’s 25,000sq ft Cains Brewery.

It now owns and operators five sites across the UK including Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Glasgow with its Golf Fang and Birdies Bar brands.

Big Fang is now aiming to expand further and acquire more sites across UK cities, with seven planned to launch across the next two years.

Previous history

Waterfield became HR director at NWTC in 2015 and five years later, she took on the role of chief operating officer, navigating the business through the pandemic.

She will start at Big Fang in January 2023 where she will focus on building on the culture within the brand and develop its strategy to enable a roll out of the Golf Fang brand and different concepts within its portfolio, both domestically and internationally.

On her new role, Waterfield said: “I am so excited to be joining the Big Fang Collective as its CEO. I’ve long admired the group’s gutsy ethos and I’m looking forward to overseeing its growth as we roll Golf Fang and Birdies Bar, while developing new concepts, out across the UK.”

Big Fang Collective co-founder Kip Piper welcomed Waterfield to the business and looked to the future of the company.

Experience wealth

Piper added: “She brings a wealth of experience to the role as well as plenty of passion for what we do.

“We are all looking forward to Waterfield joining us in January as we head into a busy year, kicking off with the launch of our Cardiff site in Q1.”

The crazy golf-themed entertainment venue firm is backed by Imbiba, which supports companies in the leisure, lifestyle and entertainment sector and pumped £5m in Big Fang to help push its growth.

Partner and head of portfolio Andrew Stones said: “We’ve found the perfect partner to deliver our domestic and international vision for The Big Fang Collective.

“We’re confident the group will flourish under her guidance and look forward to welcoming her into the role of CEO in the new year.”
