Noughty, which will be launched initially in 10 of operator’s sites, started in 2019 by wine entrepreneur Amanda Thomson and her business Thomson & Scott.
The agreement will be the wine brand’s first major pub deal in the UK, aiming to revolutionise choice for drinkers looking to balance their alcohol intake while enjoying sparkling and still wine.
City Pub Group was established in 2011 and has 45 unbranded, freehouse sites, clustered around Cathedral cities and market towns with plans to open further venues.
Site plans
Chairman and co-founder Clive Watson said: “I’m delighted to announced we will be stocking Noughty alcohol-free wine in 10 of our pubs in the new year.
“It will be poured in sites like the Phene in Chelsea, Aragon House in Parsons Green and the Cambridge Brew House.
“I’ve been working closely with Amanda Thomson over the past few months to plan the launch and we’re really excited to give City Pub Group’s customers the premium alcohol-free Noughty wine experience in 2023, which we then hope to roll out to the wider group.”
The wine brand currently produces a non-alcoholic sparkling Chardonnay and a sparkling rosé.
Wine range
Furthermore, it unveiled its Noughty Rouge red still wine in July and is launched its Noughty Blanc and Noughty Rosé still wines in 2023 to complete its portfolio,
Founder and CEO Amanda Thomson added: “Striking this deal with one of the industry’s trail blazers Clive Watson is perfect timing as more consumers find greater balance in their social drinking habits.
“City Pub Group’s innovating approach means we will be able to reach a distinct demographic across the country and further cement our position as the go-to alternative to alcoholic wine. Where City Pub group and Noughty lead, others will follow.”
